Heidi is literally the glue that holds everything and everyone together. She’s a thoughtful, caring and generous soul. You know the ‘never met a stranger’ quote? Well, that was literally written for her. She is a total extrovert and will strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere. The woman will make a new friend standing in the grocery line. Seriously. I’ve witnessed it. Two days later she’s telling me about her new friend who’s swimming in her pool? What? My brain immediately goes to crazy people in the world, but not hers. She sees the good in people and really, it’s a wonderful trait!

She loves spending time in her pool and her hot tub and particularly enjoys moonlit dips.

My girl has always loved spending time on the phone and has since we were 14 years old! Of course, back then, she had to drag the coiled cord through the house and generally did every weekend for hours on end, whether we were at her place or mine! Oops – I think I dated myself with this one!

She makes the best no-bake cookies on earth, as far as I’m concerned.

Heidi is happily married with 4 adult kids and 6 grandkids!

Before we get too far into the blog, I wanted to take a minute to introduce you to the Quite Simply Us gals – my besties! I’m so lucky to have each of them in my life and know that I couldn’t ask for a better group of gal pals! I hope you all have your own group of besties, too!

Up first is Christine. She is elegant, well-spoken and wicked smart. She’s a stickler for proper etiquette and is exceptionally cultured to boot. Don’t let all that fool you, though. She has a crazy ass sense of humor and a quirkiness that only she can pull off. You will often see photos of her with the craziest of faces – mouth open or tongue hanging out are a few of her favs.

She’s always put together and if I could use one word to describe her, it would undoubtedly be effervescent. She exudes a confidence and glow that is unmatched.

You will often hear me refer to her as Teeny, a name I took to calling her some time ago that seems to have stuck.

Teeny is happily married with two grown kiddos and a beautiful granddaughter!

As a fun little exercise in friendship, I concocted a little quiz!

I’m probably one of the more studious of the bunch. I’m an introvert, who likes to spend time at home, writing and reading. I enjoy cultural activities like the ballet or an art museum. I’m a bit of a foodie and will eat nearly anything once.

Oh, I greatly appreciate sarcasm and often cuss like a sailor. I’m pretty crafty and give lots of handmade gifts during the holidays. I love to cook, which ties in with my love of planning events and catering gatherings.

I LOVE Ohio State Buckeye football and spend a good portion of my fall tossing foam bricks (thanks, Heidi…best gift ever) at the TV and screaming at the top of my lungs!

I have a lifelong dream to spend lots of time in Paris, getting inspired and writing my heart out while sitting at an outdoor cafe for hours on end! I’ve been writing since I was pretty young and used to sit in the middle of my bed with my typewriter making up stories Eeeek…I dated myself again. The laptop may have taken the place of the typewriter, but the love of writing hasn’t changed.

As a fun little thing, I wondered how well each of us knew one another. I asked the girls some simple questions about myself and answered them as well. The goal was to find out how well they actually know me! For the most part, my lovelies know me extremely well – even the answers I didn’t give myself are on point!

Before I delve into this new blog, I wanted to take a minute to introduce you to the ladies of Quite Simply Us – my best friends!

Julie, also affectionately known as Jules, may be pint-sized, but her personality – not so much. She’s semi-hyper and may actually talk 10,000 miles a minute (wonder if that’s measurable). She’s pretty crafty and likes to make gifts for her friends. Her smile and laugh are infectious and you can’t help but follow suit whenever she does either.

She has an obsession with teddy bears, Hello Kitty and the color pink. She has a huge heart and enjoys helping others, both personally and professionally.

Julie is happily married and is surrounded by a bevy of boys – her sons and a grandson!
